October 2008
Deepavali will be celebrated by Maithri with senior citizens and children on 19th October by providing dresses, sweets and food, thanks to Mr. Prabhu Srinivasan. He has done this on his father, Mr. Srinivasan's memory. Maithri had a wonderful visiter by name Mr. Raghunath from the Kanchi Kamakoti Foundation Inc., New York USA, to see our projects and network of rural educational programs by visiting places near Chennai. He also distributed educational help given by Maithri to the children who are under care of charity homes there. We gained useful information from his visit.
August 2008
61st Indian Independence Day was celebrated by donating one sewing machine to a destitute woman in Pallikarannai (near Velacherry) plates and tumblers given to an orphanage near the city of Chennai.

Now the students getting help from us has gone up to 127 till date (20th Aug,2008). Another 10 students are currently on the waiting list. WE SEEK SPONSORSHIP FROM DONORS.
July 2008
We are happy that so far 112 students have received educational fees, books, notebooks, writing instruments, uniforms and shoes. Of which 8 students are pursuing graduate courses and 3 are doing engineering courses.
May 2007
Three students studying under our aegis excelled in the recently held board exam results. 3 girls and 2 boys topped in their school and they will tell all about themselves next month UMS MAHESHWARI , RAMAKRISHNAN, VIDHYA, ARCHANA DEVI and SUBHASHINI all moved to their higher status. Maithri has planned to distribute note book and children’s' items to 39 children in a rural school which has been encouraged in stopping frequent drop outs we along with another NGO researching into the basic reasons for the drop outs and how to bring them back to school.

Students were very much involved in their studies as ensuing exams hold the key for the future Saturdays are filled with old students getting new application forms by giving their yellow identity card. We have received 30 new applications for scrutinisation and as per our policy norms very deserving students are given priority. Physiotherapy wing has been doing very well. People who cannot afford are treated with extra care. Our therapist have been giving outdoor visits to an old woman of 90 years for her treatment, she feels better as was almost bedridden.
January 2007
(26/1/07 Republic Day) MAITHRI had a good awareness cum demo on physiotherapy in the infosces hall attached to Sri Ramakrishna High School (north branch). 30 teachers attended and had all their doubts on therapy and pain associated with long hours of sitting and standing positions cleared. Many of the teachers wanted to get treatment and we offered them the option of any day visit to the center. Sri Swamiji presided and the Principal, Mrs Leela Parthasarathy took part. All saturdays of this month have been filled with our children receiving fees for the last term of 2006-07 academic year disbursed more than Rs 20000/-(Rupees Twenty thousand only)

On December 5th celebrated The World Disable Day with Freedom Trust ,   iflexpearls in Kodambakkam High Road (near hotel Palmgroov) students from Little Flower Convent T.Nagar and St., Louis school for the hearingly impaired Adyar.took part in a musical evening.Maithri honored Dr. Sunder for his excellent contribution to the rehabilitation and encouraging talented specially abled in music and arts

November 2006
Founder Trustee Shreedhar.R had his 61 st birthday celebration on first and fourth of November. And all donors participated and greeted him. All Maithri Educational and Charitable Trust decided to start a corpus for educating special children in the coming years. Our discussions still on for the setting-up of a library of CDs for the visually impaired to help in studying professional qualifying examination for getting jobs in their selected field. In the qualifying examinations or model tests.
On the children's day 14 th November Maithri Educational And Charitable Trust founder joined with visually impaired persons from the noted city schools iconducted a grand programme which came on 14 th November on FM radio Mirchi.
Educational fees are being paid to all 17 students received marka and assured best results.
On 25 th November took part in the World Disable Day celebration conducted by Sukrithi Social Foundation in Meenakshi collage many aids appliances were donate to the needy. Physio therapy doing well two home visits per day and all patients are showing good response. Added a new machine.

October 2006
Gandhi Jayanthi day has been our participation of one day workshop on traffic rules conducted by NSS volunteers of an engineering college Moggapier and Sukrithi Social Foundation jointly to emphasis on prevention of disability by fallowing Road Safety Rules.
Deepavali been celebrated with children of various city homes by giving sweets and new dresses. Maithri Educational and Charitable Trust donated 25 sarees and dhotis donated by our regular donor and sweets given by another regular donor of long standing.
Had discussion on reviving audio cassette library for the visually impaired and with modern applications with software developing private company and plan to interact already benefited and well settled persons we stress the need of a place and sponcer for the same in a long term basis.

Shreedhar along with a volunteer been invited by Mehta Welfare Association in Singapore Mr. Tiang Hwee, Deputy Executive Director to access training to the artistic children through learning musical instruments of various countries as the main part of therapy in a typical curriculum system Maithri Educational And Charitable Trust has been treated by one and in showing all departments .its a wonderful experience to be around the school built by the Buddhist Monks. Shreedhar Had been the Chief Guest for charitable organisation fund raiser function of Indian Carnatic Music concert

August- 2006
Independence Day with old age home in Tambaram and spent few hours with the inmates of Uthavum Ullangal.
First half of the month went with our regular services and the second half the trustee Shreedhar, went to Bangalore to attend wedding of the organizational head Canada (her son).had a nice time in meeting local NGOs and exchanged views on the future advancement in technology and its usage for the differently abled.Two Reliance connections were donated to a visually impaired women in T.Nagar to expand her existing PCO. Costing Rs 3000/-

Physio therapy part of Maithri Educational and Charitable Trust started giving treatment to needed in their home with normal to special needs for the therapy period.Special arrangement was made to treat women who are in the special care unit who were suffering cruelty done in their own home for burns and muscle contractions.
Maithri Educational and Charitable Trust took part in Governor of Tamil Nadu awarded “Sanjeevini” to the medical professional who are doing yeomen service in the society. Maithri Educational and Charitable Trust was called upon to explain some of the services done beyond regular commitments in disaster relief, joining with other social organisations without competing attitude by the GIANTS in their meeting in Panigraha Kalyana Mandapam, Chennai-33.

Marc Sauquet Foundation Barcelona , Spain . Visited and reviewed their educational sponsorship in the last year. after satisfaction the Foundation went on accepting more children for the current year. Thanks to the Trustees of thr MSF and Mr Ranveer Shaw for the encouragement.
GIANTS –Chennai - on the occasion of their inaugural programme. Sponsored uniform for 5 childrens' expense and 2 for annual expenditure Children were invited and given these directly. More new applicants are in the line for getting educational aid towards this months end.

May-2006
Crowded Saturdays almost all of our regular children come (70) in total. to renew their applications, passed certificates and mark sheets. Some of the sponcers for the education interacted with the children This year we have seen many of them got good participation in the out-door games distinguished with medals. Maithri Educational And Charitable Trust took part in launching SOFT,(Servant of Freedom Trust) to render service for talent promotion and physio- therapy for the I.T. people who develop occupational hazards that leads to neck and elbow pain.

April 2006.
New academic year and Maithri Educational And Charitable Trust started receiving applications 50- in numbers already issued along with marks scored in the last year of 2005-06 Many of them did very well and we are happy to help them this year too.
We are approaching one of the refuted hospitals near Tambaram to do regular medical camps in the nearby villages. Awaiting further development. Computer components are donated to an orphanage near Chennai.

Old clothing and wooden things were donated to GOONJ an organisation which recycles these and donate to the rural people all over India .
